Speaking as a non-native English speaker, I don't really see a need for it, as "folks" is already gender inclusive. My best guess is that folx is either used for aesthetic reasons or that it's used as a sort of warning for everybody that isn't lgbtq+ saying "this doesn't concern you". Noun.
